SG#7

7.  Start rollerblading!

With my blades I ordered online for a heck of deal, I am now an "accomplished" blader!  Okay, not really, but my blading partner Carley sure is! ;)

*Photo taken by Dak, President of the ISU Student Body and also Carley's hubby!

5. Learn to play this duet with sister (complete with dance moves and all ;)

Well, this one didn't come true, BUT we will be learning another fun 4-hand duet that our Aunt Holly found us!  Maybe I'll even post a video after we learn it! :)

Until we learn it, you can be "entertained" by this video.

SG#4 & 6

4. Run the BIX in Davenport, Iowa.  I've heard this race is so fun...but I might be on vacation during this...

It's true, I did end up going on vacation during this time so I didn't get to run it...maybe next year though!  And this transitions nicely to my SG#6:

6.  Go on vacation somewhere warm!

Here's are a few pictures from our week full of boating, lounging, skiing, boarding, and being! :)

Here's the group -what FUN!

The boys sung to us at karaoke and even gave us flowers! :)

Purely divine!

SG#3

3. Complete my first 1/2 marathon by running the Dam2Dam.

I had 3 goals for this race.  They were:

1. Never walk.
2. Finish in 2 hours or less.
3. Average under a 10 minute mile.

I can successfully say I accomplished 2 of the 3.

What made this race fun was that Vanessa, Carly and myself had no intention of running together.  Van kept a good pace and we were all able to talk, laugh, and encourage each other the whole way!

SG#1

Summer 2001 Goal #1 was:

1. BECOME DEBT-FREE!!!! I absolutely cannot wait for this day! :)

...and as of May 13, 2011: ACCOMPLISHED!!!!!!!!!

Although I did not get a picture from that day, I do have one of me being excited!  Vanessa (my roomie) even took me out for dinner that night to celebrate - thanks Van!

Psalm 118:1 "Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever."

SG

Since Fall has officially begun,
for the next few days I'll
be reviewing my Summer 2011
goals and seeing what I
was able to do!

generic vs name brand

Ok, Ok, I admit it...

Some may call me a "tight wad" or a "minimalist".
But, there are a few things that I will pay a little extra for.

For example, growing up my Ma always bought the name
brand chocolate chips and peanut butter.

My bestie got me hooked on Honey Nut Cheerios w/Peanut Butter.  Until last month I would just always buy the generic brand of Cheerios to save a few cents.  After signing up for a free sample of Honey Nut Cheerios (thanks to hip2save) and tasting/comparing them right after the other, I came to this conclusion:

There.
is. a.
difference.

My list so far as to what I will pay extra for:

-Chocolate/Butterscotch Chips
-Peanut Butter
-Honey Nut Cheerios

What do YOU pay extra for???

bug

This is my nephew.

He stands 36" tall.

*Keep in mind he is not even 2 years old!

I LOVE HIM!  I am known as the "loud" Aunt, Auntie H to be exact.

My dad gave me the nickname "bug" when I was little.  People always ask "Why?" or "How did you get that name?".  I always just say I was super small growing up. Today, I learned that in Kindergarten, at age 6, I stood 36" tall...the same as a 1 year old!

Needless to say, my brother-in-law had a good laugh when he learned that! :)
