dessert song

by Hillsong United

This is my prayer in the desert
And all that's within me feels dry
This is my prayer in the hunger in me
My God is a God who provides

And this is my prayer in the fire
In weakness or trial or pain
There is a faith proved
Of more worth than gold
So refine me Lord through the flames

And I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon forged against me shall remain

I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is here

And this is my prayer in the battle
And triumph is still on it's way
I am a conqueror and co-heir with Christ
So firm on His promise I'll stand

All of my life
In every season
You are still God
I have a reason to sing
I have a reason to worship

This is my prayer in the harvest
When favor and providence flow
I know I'm filled to be emptied again
The seed I've received I will sow

I remember singing this song with my dear friend JessEE :) Hanson in Haiti at a Voodoo temple.  (I might add our singing was quite good! ;)  It was so neat to experience the power when you pray in Jesus' name!  Looking back at our trip now, the Lord was totally watching out after us.

If you know us at all, we are both loud people in general, and when you get the two of us together, I like to say we are one bundle of energy packed fun!  Our venture to and from Haiti as far as transport goes is quite the story.  On the way there we were cooped up like chickens on a bus and crammed 6 to a row while "driving" on roads that weren't roads but rather like going on speed bumps every other second while going as fast as the driver possibly could go.

For the first 7 hours, Jesse and I were laughing and having a really good time.  We then stopped for rest and got out of the bus, only to discover everyone else was nauseous, puking, not feeling good, and wanted to slap us because we were constantly laughing.  I share this because we both recently talked about this and how the Lord heard and answered prayers for us to be joyous and completely allowed us to be oblivious to the outside surroundings.

Oh dang, we look finnnnneeee!

My stellar small group!

JESSEEEEEE!

"You have cookie at mission?" BAHAHA!!! :) :)

On the smallest plane of my life!  We runway consisted of dirt, no lie!

how we got around

"Cooped up like chickens."

To see a video Jesse and I made up and sung, click here. (Keep in mind we had been traveling on a bus type thing, a very small plane, a charter bus that broke down, then mini-buses, then another charter bus.  We were SEVEN minutes late to cross the border and were stuck literally between Haiti and the Dominican Republic overnight.  Jesse and I practiced all night long, didn't get much sleep in a hot and sticky bus.  So, we don't sound the best at all, but let me tell you we had FUN! :)
