grace

Yes, even though I vowed I would never yo-yo, in the 4th grade I got one.

Yes, even though I vowed I would never ever wear skinny jeans, I bought some.

And yes, even though last year I specifically remember saying "I will never have a twitter account", I  now am an "official" tweeter (is that what it's called?!)

Here is a "tweet" by Mr. Louie Giglio himself:

Grace: Realizing you don't have to beat yourself up over your failures because Jesus was already beaten up for them/you. -- Louie Giglio (@louiegiglio)

Grace is a word that encompasses many different definitions, but I like how Louie puts it simply.

What does grace meant to you?  How have you extended grace to others, yourself, or received it?  Please share on here or e-mail me @ haley.huhn@gmail.com.  I'd love to hear about it!

proactive

proactive: acting in anticipation of future problems, needs, or changes

Be proactive!

My boss recently told me that if someone wants something to happen, they will be proactive, seek out help, ask others to guide them and help them along the way in which they want to pursue.

How true!

If you want something bad enough, you go get it!

You don't wait for someone to just hand you a promotion, whip you into shape, or help you stay disciplined with cleaning your room ;).  You make goals, set standards, and work toward achieving what you have set out to do.

You act on it.
You learn more.
You talk to people who you can absorb information from.

Like Nike says,

"Just Do It!"

day 1

day 1: success!

Notice the side stool/step...sooo, my bed frame is taller than most and my legs are shorter than most, hence the $2.00 garage sale find stool to help boost me on my bed! :)

my room.

Okay, so, I confess.  Although yes, in my past post I said I can be "disciplined to a fault sometimes". Although mostly this is true, there are area's of my life where I just fall short, real short of this word called "discipline".

My room.

My bedroom is a disaster zone!  When I say that or when you read that, it is the absolute truth!  Ask any of my roomies, past or present, and they will inform you without a doubt that it truly is!  Oh my, what a mess!

Mel and Van say it's because I'm always "go, go, go" and don't have time to look back and therefore it falls by the wayside.  I think this could be true.

Life has been crazy busy lately!  My weeks and weekends have been packed full of work, Kosama instructing, running, eating Fong's pizza ;), races, wedding showers, weddings, bachellorette parties, fundraisers, roller-blading, and traveling.  This weekend I head to Minnesota and the next weekend I'll be in Kansas.  I wouldn't have it any other way though!

I have a goal now.  I want to keep my room C-L-E-A-N!  I want to make my bed.  I want to put my clothes away.  I want to do my laundry so that I know I always have clean clothes to wear ;).  I want to be able to leave for work and know that I don't always have to put "clean room" on my to-do list that is always there.

Next time you see me, you should ask how I'm doing!  Accountability my friend!

family

My Family

My sister's best friend once told her,

"Being with your family is like watching a TV sitcom"

...and I do believe that's true!

We are a one of a kind gang.
If you ever make it out to the farm expect to see:
Boppa, neighbors, friends, cousins, and coaches.  You will hear my dad singing some opera song at the top of his lungs.  You will see my B-E-A-U-tiful ma constantly doing laundry (we affectionately call her the "laundry nazi").  More than likely Ashley and Ryan will be over raiding the fridge w/their babies running around.  Carly might even be back for the weekend showing Tucker her latest folk dance song she learned.  I will be stationed at the grand piano playing one my my three memorized songs.  Tucker and Cy love the chaos!

What a gang I tell ya!  Getting back from vacation I realized just how funny we can be when we're all together.  It doesn't happen much, but boy when it does, FUN!

Here's a summary of us:

Dad: Worker. Intense. "Jolly" as some say.

Mom: BEAUTIFUL!  UNSELFISH!  We all LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her! (but let's be honest, who doesn't?!)  Recently I am realizing just how competitive this girl can be and it's quite humorous!

Ashley: Creative.  Etsy obsessed.  Entrepreneurship minded.  She knows how to find good deals all the time and shares them with me so that I can get them too!  There are no secrets with her.  She is the family connector I would say.

Ryan (Ashley's husband):  Set the bar high for what our future brother-in-law's should be.  He does have one stipulation though, that our future boy likes to golf.  A man of few words, but always wise words.

Carly: Cheesy...this girl will say one of the fakest quotes at the most opportune time, and yet, it's just her, it's Carly.  She can ham it up. Lover of music and bacon.  And if I do say so myself, thee BEST music teacher out there!

Riley: Whom we call "brother", is well, our brother.  He loves sports and will make a superb dad one day as he is so great with our 2 nephews.  They absolutely adore him!  We do feel bad for his future gf someday as she will have to get approval from 3 pretty opinionated sisters.

And the newest additions:

Boppa:  Boppa loves his grandchildren to bits and pieces.  He will get tears in his eyes just talking about us and our lives.  He is so loving to us.  Although he likes to eat the most weird food combinations while standing up I might add.

Tucker & Cy:  "The boys" are oh so cute!  I love them!  Very well trained and they love listening to the "anya's" (me and sister) sing and dance silly.

What's fun about going home is something is ALWAYS going on and there is never a dull moment.  That is what I am used to and have come to really enjoy and be thankful for!

mornings

I have discovered I like when mornings are purposeful.  What I enjoy is leaving for something or getting home from something before most people have started their work day.  Such a great way to start the day!

I have observed about myself that I am a very disciplined person, almost to a fault sometimes.  With that said, I have learned that in order for mornings to be purposeful and productive for me, I have to go to bed earlier than most people.  I am still learning how this works, but it takes discipline to go to bed while I still want to hang out, but know that I have early morning responsibilities.

I love walking outside when the weather is absolutely perfect and heading to coach my work out class.  I love spending time w/the Lord before starting my day, or meeting for breakfast at my favorite bagel place, or talking to random biker/hippie dudes that stop outside my apartment complex because they just want to talk to someone "interesting"!  (Funny story you should ask Carly or myself about! ;)

Last week on vacation I realized this is true about my family as well.  We all go to bed at a decent hour, and you bet by 7:30 everyone is already up, moving around, and have already ate breakfast.  That's what I like.  Early to bed, early to rise.

Psalm 16:11

You make known to me the
path of life
in your presence there is
FULLNESS OF JOY;
at your right hand
are pleasures forevermore.

my new favorite bagel place!

YUM!

Yesterday my friend Carley and fellow roller-blading buddy took me here and now I think I may become obsessed.  Not only are the bagels oh so good, but they are cheap!  We both got a bagel and cream cheese for about $3.  Nice!

CJ's Bagels, you'll be seeing a lot more of this girl in the days to come! :)

sharing in others' joy!

Today, I get to share in my sisters joy!
She loves to blog, read blogs,
learn from blogs,
basically anything blog related, she's on it!
People always ask me how I know of things/deals and I simply answer
"My sister Ashley told me about it."
It's good to have a sister like her.

I just got a text from her saying she forwarded on a coupon deal to a pretty popular blog (www.hip2save.com).
It got POSTED and she gave my sister CREDIT!
EXCITING!

Click here for a Yankee's Candle BOGO coupon.

And, if you want another blog to follow, click here.
Although recently she has been posting a ton of mommy stuff. ;)
