megahertz processors? gigabytes?

Never, ever, EVER, did I think I would one day grow up and attend a training seminar for work where we would talk about megahertz processors, internal memory, and gigabytes...but alas, it has happened, weird!  If any of you know me, technology has not been my strong suite, but boy am I constantly learning!

This is just a funny video (well, at least I think) they opened our training with just for fun.

kitchen table re:vamp

This has been my most recent attempt to become "domesticated" as I like to say! :) 

I re:vamped a kitchen table. 



I found 2 chairs for cheap at a garage sale. 
With my ma's help, I recovered the seat cushions with curtain fabric that I got on sale. 



Then, I purchased the table at a local flea market out in the country -  FUN!  
After a primer and a couple coats of paint...



...this is the finished product!  Nice looking, I think so! :)

Total: $30 + the table even has a leaf you can add!

Summer Goal #1: CHECK!! :)

Whirley Pop

Thank you Ashley Constanzo, my friend and ISU's former goalkeeper, who introduced me to this great creation,Whirley Pop - YUM! 

Not only is it super easy and fast to make, about three minutes, but it is the best popcorn I have ever had, healthy, and inexpensive to make!  And did I mention it is oh so good?!

I would recommend getting one for yourself and/or family.  I got mine at Bed Bath & Beyond and used a $5.00 off coupon when you spend $20.00 or more, making it only $15 + tax.  Sometimes I get these coupons mailed to me or you can find one in magazines sometimes. 

What a great buy that comes with a 25 year warranty!  Then, all you need is yellow popcorn kernels, oil, seasoning salt, and M&M's of coarse! 

{2 tbs oil + 1/2 cup kernels = 1 quart popcorn}

goal: the result or achievement toward which effort is directed.

I love goals!  I love achieving them, making lists on how to get there, and then checking it off, yes!  Here are some I have that I want to accomplish and check off the list this summer.

1. BECOME DEBT-FREE!!!! I absolutely cannot wait for this day! :)

2. Accomplish FPU's/Dave Ramsey's baby steps.

3. Complete my first 1/2 marathon by running the Dam2Dam.

4. Run the BIX in Davenport, Iowa.  I've heard this race is so fun...but I might be on vacation during this...

5. Learn to play this duet with sister (complete with dance moves and all ;)

6.  Go on vacation somewhere warm!

7.  Start rollerblading!

8. Go blonde!

9.  Continue to learn Spanish con mis amigos Anna y Cesar!

10. Watch a movie at a drive-in movie theatre.

11. Garage sale it up!

12. Visit the "Twister" House, where they filmed the final scene of the movie.  (Little known fun fact - our old house in Story City, a beautiful Victorian, was considered for this scene, but did not make the "cut" as it was too close to a gravel road).

13. As always, try to become more domesticated! ;)
